ChatGPT, Gemini or Meta AI for Photo Edits? How to Choose
Compare ChatGPT, Gemini and Meta AI fairly using one photo, one prompt and five simple marks, and learn how Chater's copy and open buttons work.
Many people ask which AI app is best for photo edits. Honestly, it depends on your photo, your prompt and the day. Instead of guessing, you can test fairly. This guide gives you a simple method to compare ChatGPT, Gemini and Meta AI, so you can choose the one that suits you.
Why no app is "the best"
These apps change often. Something one app did badly last month may improve, and a free feature can become limited. So any ranking written today may be out of date soon. A method lasts longer than a ranking, and you can repeat it whenever you like.
The fair test: same photo, same prompt
Pick one clear photo of yourself, taken in daylight, face visible. Pick one prompt. Give exactly the same photo and exactly the same words to each app. Do not edit the prompt in between, or the test is not fair.
Put me in a traditional silk saree in front of a temple gopuram at sunrise. Keep my face, skin tone, hairstyle and features exactly as in the photo. Natural light, realistic look, no extra people, no text.
Run it once in each app, and save each result with the app name in the file name.
Score five things
Give each result a mark from 1 to 5 on each point. Do it on a bigger screen if you can, because small mistakes hide on a phone.
- Face likeness: does it still look like you, from eyes to jawline?
- Clothing accuracy: are the saree folds, border and blouse sensible and as you described?
- Background detail: is the gopuram clear, or are there odd shapes and melted lines?
- Text errors: are there strange letters on signs or clothes? Fewer is better.
- Speed: how long did it take, and did it ask you to wait or try later?
Add the marks. The highest total is the best for this photo and this prompt. Repeat with two more prompts, such as a festival one and a simple business one, before you decide.
Keep notes in a small table on paper or in your phone: app name, five marks, total, and one line about what you liked or disliked. After a week you will see a pattern. Maybe one app keeps faces truest, while another is quicker for backgrounds. Ask a friend or family member to look at the pictures without knowing which app made which. Their honest opinion shows what a stranger would notice.
Free limits change, so check the app
How many pictures you can make for free, or what quality you get, can change without notice. Look at the app's own help or settings page rather than trusting an old video. If you hit a limit, wait, or try another app. Do not pay for anything because of a pop-up claim. Our free apps guide gives more background.
Privacy settings to review
- Find the option about using your chats or photos to improve the service, and decide if you want it on.
- Check whether chat history is saved, and how to delete it.
- Do not upload photos of children, ID cards or other people without permission.
- Log in only from the official app or website.
Read our safety guide and the disclaimer for more.
How Chater's buttons work
On Chater, each prompt has a copy button and buttons for the apps. The steps are simple.
- Press Copy to copy the prompt.
- Open the app you chose.
- Paste the prompt in the message box.
For text-only prompts, where no photo is needed, the ChatGPT button can open the app with the prompt already typed. For photo prompts the app cannot receive your picture from us. So you must first upload your own photo in the app, then paste the prompt. If you want to write your own prompt, use the builder. Newer ideas are under trending.
After you choose
You do not have to pick only one. Many people use one app for portraits and another for backgrounds. If a result has problems, our fix guide shows how to ask for small corrections.
Quick checklist
- Choose one clear photo and one prompt.
- Use identical words in each app.
- Score the five points from 1 to 5.
- Repeat with two more prompts.
- Check free limits inside the app.
- Review privacy settings first.
Common questions
Which app should a beginner start with?
Start with the one already on your phone. Learn the prompt first, then compare.
Why does the same prompt give different results?
Each app works differently, and even the same app varies each time. That is normal.
Will my photo be used for training?
Policies differ. Check the privacy settings in each app and choose what you are comfortable with.
Please use only your own photos, or photos whose owners have clearly agreed. Results vary from app to app and from day to day, so treat every output as a draft you check yourself.
