If you find content on Chater that is wrong, harmful or illegal, tell us here. There is no charge. Last updated: 4 Oct 2026.
Grievance Officer
- Name: Ruban Vasu
- Email: hello@chater.in
- Takedown requests: hello@chater.in
The "Report" link on every prompt page opens an email to us with the address of that page already filled in.
What you can report
- Copyright or trademark infringement
- Impersonation: images that pretend to be a real person or use their name falsely
- Morphed or deepfake images
- Nudity or sexual images shared without consent
- Inappropriate content involving children
- Privacy violations or misuse of your personal information
- Any other illegal content
What to include
- Your name and an email address where we can reach you.
- The address (URL) of the page with the problem.
- A short explanation of what is wrong and why.
- For a copyright complaint: a description of your original work and a statement that you are the owner or act for the owner.
- If the image shows you, please say so. Do not send us the image itself; the page address is enough.
How fast we respond
- We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours.
- We resolve it and tell you the result within 15 days.
- Urgent categories are non-consensual intimate or nude images, morphed images, and impersonation. We act on a valid complaint in these categories within 2 hours.
We may ask for more information. If we believe a complaint is genuine, we may remove or hide the content before our review is finished.
Counter-notice
If you think your content was removed by mistake, write to the same address and explain why. We will look at both sides, and we will restore the content if the removal was wrong.
Repeat infringers
We will remove sources of content that repeatedly infringe the rights of others from our site.
No retaliation
We will not take any action against a person who makes a complaint in good faith.
Other routes
If you are not satisfied with our decision, you can approach the Grievance Appellate Committee set up under the IT Rules, or go to court. Offences involving intimate images can also be reported at cybercrime.gov.in.
